Privacy notice

Effective date:

This notice describes how UseThisCalc at usethiscalc.com handles calculator information, browser storage, shared links, and site delivery.

Calculator inputs and results

Calculations run in your browser. The calculator code does not send values you type or calculated results to an application server. The site has no accounts or application database.

Inputs and results remain in the page's memory while it is open. Browser features such as form restoration or device backups may preserve information independently of the site. Saving scenarios, opening a shared URL, printing, and exporting have the additional effects described below.

Browser storage and saved scenarios

The site stores your selected theme in local storage. Calculators that offer “Save to this browser” store financial scenarios only when you choose that action. A saved scenario can contain a name, financial assumptions, and results that another calculator on this site can use.

These records have no automatic time-based expiration in the site code. Saving can update an existing scenario, and only the 20 most recent scenarios are retained. You can remove saved scenarios using the calculator's “Clear saved data” action or your browser settings. Clearing saved scenarios does not also clear your theme preference. Clearing all site data in your browser removes both. The site cannot retrieve or delete local scenarios on your behalf.

If browser storage is blocked or unavailable, calculations still work, but preferences and scenarios may not be saved. Browser profiles, synchronization, and backups are controlled by your browser and device.

Share URLs

Choosing Share creates a URL containing selected calculator assumptions and attempts to copy it to your clipboard. Anyone with the link can read those values and reproduce the estimate.

When a shared link is opened, its URL, including the calculator assumptions in the query string, is sent to the site's hosting service as part of the page request. A shared URL may also appear in browser history, bookmarks, clipboard history, synchronization, server logs, and services through which you share it. Avoid sharing values you want to keep private.

Editing calculator inputs does not automatically publish those edits or update the address bar. Sharing is an explicit action.

Print and CSV exports

Print, PDF output, and CSV files are created when you request them and may contain inputs and results. The calculator does not upload exported CSV files. Downloads, printer queues, backups, cloud storage, and any later sharing are controlled by you and the services you use.

Site delivery and technical information

Hosting and network services receive information needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. They may keep access or security logs to operate the service and prevent abuse. Browser-only calculation does not prevent this ordinary website traffic or the transmission of a shared URL.

Retention of technical logs depends on the hosting service and its configuration. Clearing browser storage does not remove information already recorded in server logs or services through which you shared a link.

Analytics, advertising, and cookies

The current site code does not load Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or other analytics or advertising scripts. Spaces labeled “Advertisement” are layout placeholders. The site code does not set cookies; theme preferences and saved scenarios use local storage.

If analytics or advertising is introduced, this notice will be updated to describe the actual services and their data handling, and appropriate privacy choices will be provided before those services are enabled.

Your choices

  • Use calculators without saving, sharing, printing, or exporting your assumptions.
  • Remove saved scenarios using “Clear saved data” where available, or remove all local site data through your browser settings.
  • Delete files, shared messages, clipboard history, and browser history through the relevant device or service controls.
  • Use browser controls to restrict storage. This can prevent themes and scenarios from being saved.

Changes to this notice

Updates will be published here with a revised effective date. Changes in data handling will be described before they are introduced.
